Calls to State Senators:
Pennsylvania Access to Basic Care (PA ABC) SB 1137 would provide health insurance to over 270,000 uninsured, creating a pathway for them to secure a medical home with a primary care physician. System-wide, this model of service delivery is much less costly and focused on quality of life rather than a crisis-driven approach that relies on emergency room services and hospital beds. Find out who your State Senator is and call them to pass PA ABC! |

HB 2005 A bill reforming insurance practices that penalizes individuals and makes us all pay more in the end for chronic, rather than preventative care. Insurance companies would not be allowed to disqualify people from insurance due to pre-existing conditions and they would be restricted in how much money they could spend for things other than providing health care. At least 85% of premiums would have to go to providing health care which should lead to reduced premiums. The bill would allow the PA Insurance Department to have increased authority to regulate rates and insurance products. Find out who your State Senator is and call them to pass HB 2005!
