In the early 1980s, MCC began to conduct door-to-door outreach to support pregnant women in accessing prenatal care.
In 1985, MCC holds its first Annual Conference on Adolescent Pregnancy. Sine 1985, MCC has held nineteen Annual Meetings and Professional Education Series for researchers, professionals, and practitioners on a wide range of topics in the maternal and child health field. |

In 1987, MCC begins outreach and counseling to 191 clients in Strawberry Mansion. These services form the root of MCC's signature home-visiting program, the MOMobile®.
In 1988, MCC organizes Infant Mortality Hearings for Philadelphia City Council. |
