"Birthing is a powerful experience whether it results in a baby or an organization. I am grateful to have been a midwife to MCC, to work with passionate and talented people and to advocate for women and children every day." |
As Executive Director of MCC since 1989, JoAnne has overseen the agency's growth from a neighborhood project to a statewide organization, a staff of 3 to a staff of 70, and a budget of $116,000 to over $3 million. JoAnne is a member of the Forum for Executive Women and the Community Advisory Board of WHYY. JoAnne's other experience includes directing the parenting program at Booth Maternity Center, establishing a maternal-child home care company and coordinating the Essential Experience Workshop in this region. JoAnne works nationally and internationally in the leadership of the American Public Health Association, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, and the Girl Scouts of the USA.
