Maternity Care Coalition (MCC), a dynamic $7.5M nonprofit, works to improve maternal and child health and well-being through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities. Accounting Manager

MCC seeks an experienced Accounting Manager with non-profit and Sage MIP experience.The Accounting Manager position maintains the accounting records on a monthly basis which includes the preparation and recording of journal vouchers, cash receipts, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, petty cash disbursements. Responsibilities include the preparation of monthly financial reports and related analysis for program and agency reporting, administration and reconciliation of the accounting system, fixed assets inventory, grant and contract monitoring and reporting, key staff member for independent audit, supervises staff.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, minimum of seven years non-profit accounting experience with multiple funders and government contracts, CPA a plus.  Experience with SAGE non-profit accounting software required, proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Office).   Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines, active team member.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Position in Philadelphia.

Early Head Start Family Advocate

Family Advocates are needed for our Early Head Start program to conduct home visiting with pregnant women and families with young children ages 0 – 3. Advocates provide health education, connect families to needed health care and other community resources as well as promote child development. The Family Advocate maintains relationships with identified clients and provides support via weekly home visits. Attends community meetings and trainings; organizes parent meetings; keeps accurate written records; uses organization database.

We seek motivated individuals, knowledgeable about community resources, with good computer skills. Ability to work well with people, good organizational skills.  Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.  High school diploma required.  Positions in Norristown, South Philadelphia and Pottstown.  Individuals who are bi-lingual in Spanish/English are strongly encouraged to apply.

Parent Involvement Associate

The Parent Involvement Associate/Center-based Family Advocate (PIA) will provide general support and training to parents in the Early Head Start program. The PIA is also responsible for maintaining and supporting EHS male involvement initiatives. As the Parent Involvement Associate this person will assist enrolled families in their efforts to improve the condition and quality of life and access critical health and human services. PIA person will provide support and education for maintaining good health and promoting child development. Services extended to families may also include counseling, referrals, educational and recreational programming, crisis intervention and advocacy. The PIA coordinates and delivers services to center based families as well as to families transitioning into other programs and/or service delivery options. The PIA is expected to provide services to families of up to 16 children enrolled in EHS classroom programs.

Qualified candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; have Good record keeping and organizational skills and have strong computer skills.
