Celebrating Fathers Golf Classic 2006 Highlights
MCC's First Annual Event Scores a Hole in One!

On June 30th MCC “teed off” for our first annual Golf Classic at the Town & Country Golf Links in Woodstown, New Jersey. Run entirely by volunteers, the day of golf with dinner and an auction raised funds for MCC’s Cribs for Kids, MOMobile® and Early Head Start programs.

The golf competition included an interesting array of contests and prizes, and the auction featured autographed sports memorabilia and many other great items! Members of the Philadelphia 76ers Dance Team were on hand to sell raffle tickets.
 
Committee Chair Mark Michaels from Lockheed Martin (one of the event sponsors) assembled an energetic lineup of golfers and Golf Classic Sponsors – and the event was a sell-out! WIP’s Al Morganti joined golfers at one of the holes to give some tips on their golf game and pose for some pictures.

The first-time event raised over $8,000.00 and was the culmination of MCC’s Spring Fundraising campaign. Our 2006 honorary chairs were Carolyn Smith and her son Will Smith, who donated an autographed photo for the event. MCC’s Golf Committee is already at work planning the 2nd Annual Classic, which will be held in June of 2007.
