The 2009 campaign kicked off on March 7th with Flowers, Tea and MCC. A special Children’s Tea, My Family, Me and MCC, was introduced this year for our young supporters and their guests.
Each year we create an original carnation-themed Mother’s Day card as the centerpiece of our campaign. Since 2001, this special card has honored thousands of mothers across the U.S. and around the world who have made a difference in the lives of our donors.

A Mother’s Promise - our 2009 card - delivers a message of hope. Motherhood is a journey of love and commitment, of lessons learned and taught. Like the gracefully illustrated buds and blossoms on this card, a mother’s wisdom can be simple or complex, a single idea or a larger vision. The card opens to a cascading collection of carnations.
"Strengthening families, one baby at a time is MCC’s vision and our promise to the community. Much can be said about the power of one. One promise can deliver so much hope. One act of kindness can lift someone’s spirits. One good deed can lead to another. One energetic volunteer can recharge a community. One caring person can inspire others, and together we can make a difference."
